Google Form Introduction

Overview

One of the primary sources of sabotage to cooperative learning can be averted when all students understand they will be evaluated by their peers for their participation and contributions to the group process.

In short: if a reasonable portion of a project grade is afforded to self- or peer-assessment, egos tend to be placed somewhat in check and slackers either step up or have their day in court. The rest of the group can "let go" of their frustration with a non-participating member if they understand the student's grade will not be the same as their grade in the end. Likewise, the individual whose inclination is to control the project can let go of some control if s/he understands that they will be rewarded for fostering group cohesion and success.

Google Form Basics

A google form is a survey tool that looks beautiful on the user end, embeds brilliantly into other online tools, and can easily collect data across time in a variety of formats. The information entered into a Google Form ends up on a spreadsheet which can then be aggregated, displayed as charts or graphs, and sorted to analyze findings.
